Premier's Water Foundation

Round 2: Announcement successful applications

The Expression of Interest period for Round 2 of the Premier’s Water Foundation Grants closed on 9 December 2005. The Foundation received 56 Expressions of Interest for funding totalling over $21 million in grant requests from a diversity of parties, including universities and other educational institutions, research organisations and private companies. The calibre of projects was very high and short-listing of projects competitive. Following assessment and evaluation by Foundation Board members and peer reviewers at the Department of Water, the Board recommended to the Premier that five projects be invited to negotiate a grant agreement with the State. The Premier recently endorsed the Board’s recommendation and applicants have been advised of outcome. The total value of the Foundation grants awarded for Round 2 is $3.1 million.
